Should contain

  • Paint and varnish
  • Printing ink, printing ink sludge.
  • Glue, adhesives and sealants.
  • Packaging with paint, glue and varnish residue.

Should not contain

  • Solvents
  • Products with isocyanates
  • Organic peroxides products.

Description

Paint, glue and varnish are hazardous waste and is subject to delivery and declaration requirements mentioned in the Waste Regulation . This also applies to the packaging if it is not empty and dry.

Collection

Receptacles, drums, pallets w/ sides covered with plastic inside. The waste producer (customer) is to declare the waste on a separate form. The waste can only be delivered to facilities approved for the reception of hazardous waste

Processing

The waste is sorted by type, texture and packaging type.

Recycling

Hazardous waste is to be taken out of circulation and is not to be recycled.

Non-compliance

A sorting fee may be charged if the item is not sorted into a homogeneous fraction. If sorting is not possible, the entire delivery can be reclassified. The driver will not take hazardous waste if the declaration is not completed.

Hazardous waste contains substances that are hazardous to health and the environment and must be properly processed so that environmental pollutants do not spread and accumulate in nature.  Hazardous waste should not be mixed with other wastes. Households and individuals are to deliver all hazardous waste to municipal waste reception schemes. Businesses are to declare and deliver hazardous waste to approved waste reception facilities.
